Men, who would like to be women – and who often (almost) are.

Ladyboys, in Thailand also called Kathoey, are in some countries of Asia much more visible and accepted than here in Germany. Some people think the Buddhist culture is responsible for this difference, because it puts great emphasis on tolerance.
These ladyboys often make their money in shows or with sex – the latter making them earn definitely more than “real” women earn for such ‘services’. Other occupations are difficult to find for them. Their rate of suicide is distinctly higher than that of the rest of the population.
In this show they changed their clothes and put on make-up on a verandah and in an old dilapidated kitchen – only to appear in glitter and glory on the stage immediately afterwards.
